Level 4 - "Lost Office"

"A brooding sense of safety washes over you…"

The cubicle farm.

The cubicle farm.

Description

Level 4, also known as the Lost Office, is a sprawling, artificially lit office complex composed of typical office stuff, nothing too out of the ordinary. The environment is divided into many different corporate style rooms and corridors, with the most common ones being sterile cubicle farms and minimalistic lounge corridors.

The cubicle farm consists of dozens of grey workstations filled with computers that are not so up-to-date, filing cabinets and ergonomic office chairs. Nothing too crazy. Here, the air is still and dry, but with a faint scent of printer toner and synthetic carpet. Similarly to Level 0, fluorescent lights buzz intermittently, casting white light over all of the surfaces. But unlike Level 0, the lights here aren't too grating or devastatingly uncomfy.

Lounge Corridors and Atmosphere

Now onto the lounge corridors. In many cases, these sections are remarkably empty, even so empty to the point of it looking like a reskinned Level 0. Soft blue-striped carpet line the flooring with white chairs and wall padding that slightly resembles acoustic treatment. The layout is eerily symmetrical, with identical furniture groupings repeated down long halls, and subtle ambient noise, like soft ventilation homes, which add this disorienting clam throughout these corridors.

Temperatures within Level 4 are on average, about 21 degrees celsius, which only adds to the uncanny comfort of the place. In contrast however, chairs spinning on their own or muffled movement in adjacent cubicles can happen here, but I'm going to leave the cause up to your own interpretation.

Level 0 is the sister level of Levels 12 and 13. However, it is closer to Levels 1-8 than its "sisters".
